Sometimes he wonder what the hell Matt is doing with her. She's pretty much a clone of the superficial, popularity obsessed girl Elena used to be, only in a peppier blonder package. Forbes and he go way back, and never in a million years would he have called her as a rebound.
Honestly though, the guy has enough drama in his life right now, what with Vicki and his mom. Tyler's not exactly proud of himself when it comes to any of the Donovan women either. He fucked up with Vicki, she deserved better from him. And then that bullshit with Kelly.
He really shouldn't have...
Whatever.
What's done is done. But Matt is still his boy and somehow, magically, had forgiven him for treating all the women in his family like shit.
So he's going through some stuff - living on his own, dealing with his sisters death and shit - but Tyler still doesn't get Caroline comes into things. And he understands why Matt doesn't show up for the Miss Mystic competition. It's the most ridiculous beauty pageant thing and if his dad weren't the mayor there's no way he'd be within fifty miles of this snoozefest of a party.
He grabs a drink off one of the wait trays being circulated around the party and downs it in one bitter swallow. The burn is exactly what he needs to survive this incredibly moronic -
His thoughts trail off as she walks down the stairs. Her legs are mostly covered - way more than they are when she's cheering for him in that skimpy little uniform - by this bright green skirt. Every time she steps, he sees a long flash of smooth tanned skin. The dress leaves her shoulders bare, and he actually has to physically stop himself from reaching out to touch.
He's never felt that pull for Forbes before, and in the past the girl has practically given him lap dances on and off the field.
He can almost taste the salty-bitter flavor he knows he would find along the curve of her neck. Knows the lightly flowered scent of her perfume would be sharp on his tongue as it trailed on soft skin.
He needs it. That little taste of her.
"Nice dress," he whispers into her ear as she steps close to him on here way out to her escort.
She turns and smiles at him. For a moment the world seems to slow down for him, for them, and he takes her in. Bright blonde hair curled in at the ends, green eyes highlighted by dark lashes, a smudge of pink along her lips. He wants to kiss here there, see if she's wearing flavored gloss over top. Or maybe all he'll find is a taste that's purely Caroline.
Then he remembers Matt and the moment is broken. She takes her escort by the hand and heads outside. He watches her for a minute then grabs the nearest full glass, downing it again.
He ends up making out with Sara against the bookshelves in the library, but every time he closes his eyes Sara's brown curls morph into blonde, and his mouth softens.
