I wrote a drabble...

Because it needed to be written by me... And remembering that I never liked Rory before this...
Title: Flying
Disclaimer: They don't belong to me.
Summary: what should have happened after the jump.
She doesn't know why she agrees to it. Maybe what he said to her makes sense. Maybe she believes him. Maybe she's always known that it was true. Maybe she's lonely, or maybe she just needed some adventure. Perhaps she needed to do something stupid and impulsive.
Maybe not.
Standing seven stories up in a blue crinoline beside a man in a tuxedo she's known for a matter of weeks, a man she's not even sure if she likes yet, she can't help but feel nervous. Seven stories. Seven. God it's high. Really really high.
The things she does for a story.
She's not even sure if it's about the story anymore. Maybe this was what she pursued it for. She knew, she'd known from the outset that Logan would be involved. Maybe she'd always understood that things with Dean were ill-fated from the beginning. She did sleep with him while he was married. Not that he should have been married at 18, but still.
So high. Why did she agree to this again? Oh. Right. Logan. Something stupid. Something bad for her. Something different.
He hands her the umbrella. Just what exactly is it supposed to do? She's not Mary Poppins. She can't fly. Why is she doing this? It's insane. Absolutely lock-me-up-in-the-looney-bin crazy.
He takes her hand, and they jump.
Together, always together. Flying through the air. Thrilling, scary, and brilliant. Her heart flies up into her throat, butterflies flitter in her stomach, but none of that seems to frighten her because his hand covers hers. You jump, I jump.
And they land. Softer than she would have expected, still joined. She drops the umbrella covering his hand with hers, noting that he never let go once, only gripped it harder as they touched the ground together.
A once in a lifetime experience.
"Only if you want it to be." She can't tell who pulls at whom, but she knows that her body wants this. His lips don't caress hers, but demand, just as the jump demanded. It fits. Everything about it fits to her, and she pulls him closer not letting him go. Persuading him to take more from her, letting his tongue sweep through her mouth casually, with the adrenaline still running high through her blood.
And just that quickly he pulls away, stroking the side of her face with his free hand as Seth brings them both fresh champagne.
She's still high, leaning out on a precipice, but not so afraid to fall now. Knowing that she's already taken the leap.

Date: 2004-11-07 06:32 pm (UTC)Thanks for reading it. I really appreciate it. And since it was my first attempt at GG fic, it means all the more that someone read it and liked it. Although I sent it to all my GG-lovin' friends and they've all responded positively. *g* Thanks again though Jess.
